Conceptual illustration for the retelling of “Little Red Riding Hood”
This book tells the story of a girl, nicknamed the Red Hood because she wouldn't take off a sweater that her grandmother gave her. In this plot, instead of the wolf eating the grandmother, Hat is attacked by him, when he was driving with his mother to his grandmother's house and behold, she discovers that she has magical powers, saves herself and her mother and finally manages to visit her grandmother.

For the illustration of the reinterpretation of this classic, I used warm colors, which convey more warmth, feeling and affection, in addition to well-rounded shapes, which make everything cuter. Something I love and I believe that brings a very special touch are the textures, made with India ink and present throughout the illustration.

Process
For the creation process I started with the magic stick figures, made in my favorite color that was being refined until giving rise to the complete piece of the illustration.

I created the hat with some expressions so that I can feel it even before drawing each scene. Character sheet:

I also did some color tests and arrived at the colors that I believe are ideal for a cool, young and fun girl.
